AI features

Regen can use AI to help during and after an incident. AI is included with your plan and runs on Regen's own AI, so there is nothing to set up and no key to add. It is optional: alerting, paging and every other part of Regen work the same without it.

What AI does

FeatureWhat you get
Incident summariesA short summary drafted from the incident's activity, its alerts and connected chat context. Generate it from the AI incident summary panel on an incident. Review it against the incident record before you rely on it.
Handoff digestsA status update for shift handoffs.
Post-mortem draftsA first draft of a post-mortem from the incident's timeline. See Post-mortems.

Usage is also tracked separately for post-mortem improvements, the incident draft helper and questions in Slack.

Responders and above can use these features. Viewers cannot. See Users, roles and teams.

Turn AI off

Some organizations do not want incident text sent to an AI provider. Admins can turn AI off for the whole workspace:

  1. Open System in the left-hand menu.
  2. In the AI assistant section, clear Allow AI features in this workspace.

While it is off, nothing is sent to an AI provider, and everyone in the workspace can see that AI has been turned off. Turn it on again the same way.

Your data

When you use an AI feature, the incident content it works on, such as the timeline, alerts and chat messages, is sent to Regen's AI provider to produce the result. If that is not acceptable for some or all of your incidents, turn AI off, or keep sensitive incidents private and do not use AI features on them.

Usage and limits

AI usage is measured in AI credits, with a monthly allowance that depends on your plan.

  • Usage is shown on the Billing page and, in more detail, on Usage & limits: how many credits each feature has used.
  • A bar turns amber as you approach the allowance and red when you reach it.
  • At the limit, AI features pause until the 1st of the month. Alerting and paging are not affected.
